The Mayor of the South Ukrainian port city of Kherson, Igor Kolykhayev said Russian forces were on the streets and forced into the city council building, the Reuters news agency reported.

The previous Ukrainian government had shrinked reports that Kherson had fallen into Russian hands.

Kolykhayev urged Russian soldiers not to shoot civilians and in public asked civilians to walk through the streets only during the day and in one and two. “We don’t have an armed forces in the city, only civilians and people who want to stay here!” he said in a statement.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the US Ambassador to the United Nations, expressed gratitude to the 141 countries who chose for the resolution of the UN General Assembly condemning Russian invasion to Ukraine.

Let’s continue to gather to support the Ukrainian people and show true strength and the true purpose of the United Nations,” Thomas-Greenfield wrote in a tweet.

The Pentagon announced that the US was postponed an inter-friendly ballistic missile test which was previously set for this week to avoid escalation with Russia in the midst of the intensified crisis.

In an effort to show that we have no intention of carrying out any actions that can be misunderstood or misinterpreted, the Decressary of Defense has directed that the launch of the Balistic Missile Test Minuteman III Intercontinental we are scheduled for this week postponed,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters .
