When Russian attacks in Ukraine continued, the Ukrainian army claimed that Moscow wanted to end the war on May 9.
According to the report by Kyiv Mandiri, the sources of intelligence from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed that Russian troops were told that the war must end on May 9.
Meanwhile, Ukraine accused Moscow forcibly took hundreds of thousands of civilians to Russia, claiming some of them could be used as “hostages” to suppress Kyiv to hand over the war.
Lyudmyla Denisova, Ombudsperson, Ukraine, said 402,000 people, including 84,000 children, had been taken against their will, a report by the Associated Press said.
The Kremlin gave almost identical numbers but said the people wanted to go to Russia.
On the other hand, US President Joe Biden and Western allies have promised new sanctions and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine but their offerings failed from stronger military assistance as asked by President Volodymyr Zelskyy in the video appeal.
