KABUL: The Taliban authorities warned Pakistan on Saturday after five children and a woman was killed in Afghanistan in an alleged rocket attack by the Pakistani military in pre-dawn attacks along the border.
Border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have increased since the Taliban seized power last year, with Islamabad claiming militant groups carry out attacks from Afghan land.
The Taliban denied maintaining Pakistani guerrillas, but was also angry by the fence of Islamabad setting up along the border of 2,700 kilometers (1,600 miles) known as the Durand line, which was compiled in the colonial age.
An Afghan government official and a resident in the province of Kunar Timur Afghanistan bordering Pakistan said Pakistani forces fired rockets earlier on Saturdays that left six dead.
Five children and a woman were killed and a man was injured in a Pakistani Rocket attack in the Shelton Kunar district,” said Director of Najibullah Province Hassan Abdaial told AFP.
Ehsanullah, a resident of Shelton District passed with one name because many Afghanistan did, said the attack was carried out by the Pakistani military aircraft.
A similar pre-Dawn attack was carried out in the province of Khost Afghanistan near the border, said other Afghan government officials.
Pakistani helicopters bombarded four villages near the Durand line in Khost Province,” he said with anonymous requirements.
Afghan Islamic Emirates condemned in terms of all possible bombings and attacks that had occurred from Pakistan in the land of Afghanistan,” said Government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid to reporters in an audio message.
We use all options to prevent repetition (from the attack) and call for our sovereignty to be respected.
Pakistani side must know that if the war begins, it will not be an interest in any party. This will cause instability in the region. “
