The border battle between Iranian troops and the Afghan Taliban has killed one person, according to a local Afghan official.
Mawlawi Mohammad Ebrahim Animal, Commander of the Border of Islamic Emirates in Nimroz Province, quoted by Afghanistan’s Tolonews who said that one Taliban soldier had died and the other had been injured on Sunday.He claimed Iran’s troops began the battle he said happened in the Kong District in Nimroz.
The Reuters news agency also quoted a police officer in Nimroz who said a member if the Taliban forces had died.
Irna, which is managed by the Iranian government, did not comment on the reported victim, but said the fight was started by the Taliban forces.
According to Irna and semi -Resmi Tasnim news outlets, the battle began when the Taliban troops entered Iran’s land in Hirmand, which is located in the provinces of Sistan and Balochistan, and tried to lift their own flags.

Iran has not officially recognized the Taliban as the Afghan government, maintaining that its recognition will depend on the formation of “inclusive” administration.
