Although smartphone leaks are quite common, a Google Pixel is unmatched. The upcoming Pixel 7a from Google is expected to launch in three months, and we’ve already seen everything about it, including in-depth specifications and hands-on photos. A purported Pixel 7a prototype has now been spotted on eBay, and the listing includes images of the device switched on.

A Pixel 7a prototype is reportedly being sold on eBay by a user named nikoskom-94. The smartphone is shown with the same design that has been leaked by numerous reports, but there is one discrepancy: the logo. Google’s “G” logo can be found on the rear of Pixel devices, however, the logo on this prototype is more reminiscent of the Pac-Man silhouette.

According to the eBay listing, nikoskom-94 tried to sell the prototype for a whopping $5,000, but understandably, no one was interested. As a result, the price was lowered to $2,500 and later to $1,650. The prototype is again back up for auction with a $2,550 starting bid, and the auction is scheduled to end on Saturday. For a device that is anticipated to retail for less than $500, this pricing is still sky-high.

The Pixel 7a is expected to make its debut in May at Google I/O 2023. During the same event, the company might also unveil the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. Rumours suggest that the Pixel 7a will feature a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Similar to the Pixel 7 series, the phone will likely be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset, along with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset could run the Android 13 OS out of the box.
