Munitions pillaged by the Taliban in Afghanistan can get smuggled into India and used in terror- related conditioning, Director General of Border Security Force said moment, admitting pitfalls expiring from Afghanistan for the first time.
“It’s a cause of solicitude since the Taliban skeleton is now free and they’ve munitions. We’re alert and are in touch with our family agencies,”DG BSF Pankaj Singh said.
Talking to journalists on the dusk of the 57th Raising Day of the paramilitary, the BSF head said at least 67 drone sightings have been made this time till now along India’s western border with Pakistan.
” Right now, the frequence of drones that are coming to our country is fairly small and these are by-and-large Chinese- madedrones.they are veritablygood.and carrying small loads and in 95 per cent cases, they’re carrying medicines” he added.
” We’ve installed some kind ofanti-drone systems at the border and they’re working fairly ok but we’re in the process of getting further and further technology,” Mr Singh said.
He, still, added that covering the entire km (of the India-Pakistan border) withanti-drone systems will bring a lot, and hence a” trade-off” can be allowed of.
Like if we’ve a vital installation or important asset on the border, theanti-drone system to guard it can be installed there first, followed by other locales, DG Singh said.
According to him, there’s no reliable system available in the entire world.”There’s no way as of now by which we can block, cube or make them (drones)de-active. We’re in theprocess.this ( gettinganti-drone technology) is our number one precedence,” he said.
The BSF has shot down two drones till now along the Pakistan border, he said.
He said the force has also come across cases of drones carrying munitions cargo from across the Pakistan border into India and” dropping them into our area”.
“We’re in touch with intelligence agencies and state police about these feces as every time such a flight takes place, notoriety is informed on the Indian side to take delivery,”he added.
The DG said the force was getting” awful cooperation” from the Punjab Police in this environment.
Talking about underground coverts being plant along this front, especially in the Jammu area, he said the force was keeping a surveillance on this exertion and contriving new styles to check these structures that prop infiltration.
Fortified terrorists have used similar coverts, that are as deep as 30 bases, 3-4 bases in range and height, and 100 measures below the transnational border hedge, to insinuate the country.
