The highest leader of the Taliban, Haabatullah Akhunzada, has asked the international community to recognize the “Islamic Emirates” Afghanistan in a message in front of the Eid holiday without touching the problem of the education of girls.
The government led by the Taliban has not been recognized by any country since returning to power last August, 20 years after being overthrown in the US invasion.
Afghanistan has a role in world peace and stability. According to this need, the world must recognize the Afghan Islamic Emirates, “Akhunzada said in a written message before the Eid holiday that marked the end of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan.
Akhunzada said the world has become a “small village” and the right diplomatic relations will help solve the country’s problems.
In January, Acting Prime Minister Afghanistan, Hasan Akhund, asked the international community to officially recognize “Islamic Emirates” because the Taliban had tried to end diplomatic isolation.
The Taliban has promised women’s rights and media freedom a day after returning to power after the government of President Ashraf Ghani who was supported by the West.
But this group has faced criticism for re -introducing hardline rules that increasingly exclude women from public life. It was also accused of violating human rights.
Akhunzada did not mention international demands – including reopening high schools for girls and inclusive governments. Instead, he said recognition must take precedence “so that we can solve our problems formally and in diplomatic norms and principles”.The US together with Western countries has frozen billions of dollars of Afghan banking assets, and cutting aid has caused an economy that is almost dependent on the economy. More than 90 percent of Afghan citizens suffer from lack of food.
Eid al -Fitr Akhunzada’s message came because the country had been rocked by a series of bomb blasts the latest attack targeting the Shia Hazara minority community claimed by the ISIL group (ISIS).
At least nine people were killed on Thursday in an attack on Shiite Muslims in the North Mazar-I-Sharif city.
