New Delhi: India’s direct priority After the launch of Russian military operations against Ukraine on Thursday is the safety and evacuation of around 20,000 citizens, with the authorities activating alternative evacuation routes after the closure of the Ukrainian airspace.
The Indian Embassy in Kyiv issued a new advisor who asked residents to stay safe considering the “very uncertain” situation, and to avoid traveling.

The new adviser from the Indian Embassy in Kyiv described the situation in Ukraine as “very uncertain” and asked Indian citizens to “keep tranquility and remain safe wherever you are, both at home, hostel, accommodation or transit”.
Everyone who travels to Kyiv, including those traveling from the western part of Kyiv, it is recommended to return to their respective cities while, especially towards safer places along the western countries bordering, “the adviser said.
Indian students were previously asked to come to Kyiv to take special flights operated by Air India or other operators. The Indian side has decided to attract a family of Diplomats and Indian officials in Kyiv.
